Soul of Vietnam Incense

In this documentary-style project, I embarked on a fascinating journey to uncover the rich heritage of Vietnam's traditional incense-making industry. Through my investigative work, I meticulously documented the incense production landscape in Saigon, starting from the wholesale distribution hubs in District 6 to the authentic manufacturing facilities.

My thorough research led me to discover the primary production facility of Nguyen Van Khoat in Pham Van Hai commune, Binh Chanh district. This facility, along with neighboring establishments, serves as the cornerstone of the city's incense supply chain, distributing to wholesale markets and reaching every corner of the city.

This project showcases my ability to:

- Conduct comprehensive field research independently
- Document traditional craftsmanship with authenticity with photography skills.
- Capture the essence of Vietnamese traditions through storytelling

The project particularly highlights my storytelling skills in capturing the spirit of Tet festivities, where incense plays a pivotal cultural role, creating an atmospheric narrative around the bustling markets and the traditional significance of incense in Vietnamese celebrations.
